Marriage Rose - Chapter 1

People say that during your senior year, it's probably one of the easiest years in high school, if you don’t count the stress of college and scholarships and such.
I definitely beg to differ. Any one would trade their life for someone else's if they had my parents.
My names Alice Beauty, and everything was going well for me; I had a wonderful boyfriend named David, and my grades were flawless for a senior, and lastly, I had gained the Valedictorian award at school.
Everything really was perfect, until my parents dropped the note this morning that I was to be wed to a guy I didn’t even know! This is like some sick and twisted arranged marriage story some teenager wrote for the sheer fun of it!
So here I am, sitting in my room, which is now empty except for the boxes in which all of my things were packed in and my mattress and frame. Why does this have to happen to me? I didn’t want to marry some guy I don’t even know, and I'm sure he's a complete waste of my time. I really wanted to be with David. Not this guy.
I winced as I heard a car pull up into the driveway. I was sure it was my betrothed, especially since my parents were all friendly and nice and very appreciative. What century is this, guys? Oh, the 21st? Really? Well I couldn’t notice with all this arranged marriage crap!
"She's upstairs?" I heard a man's voice ask. My parents eagerly replied and I snorted lightly, pulling up my childish tantrums and walked over to my door and quickly locked it, sitting back down onto my bed and when I heard a knock, I gave no reply; just sat there stubbornly, my arms crossed, and glared at the man behind it, though I couldn’t see who he was.
"Hello? Alice?"
"Go away." I hissed, turning myself around and letting my back face the door.
"Aw, don’t be like that, Love-" I cut him off. "Love!? You don’t even know me!" I spat and within the heat of anger, I got up and opened the door to yell at him, but instantly stopped and stared at the gorgeous man before me, no, not a man. He couldn’t be more than 18. He was still a teen.
Well, at least they were smart enough to keep him at my age. I was still seventeen; my eighteenth birthday wasn’t for another four months.
He definitely wasn’t my David. David had black hair and green eyes. He was the 'Goth kid on the track team'.
This guy here was the 'Gorgeous kid you'll find in Manga.'
His hair was shoulder length dirty blond, and his eyes were a beautiful light lilac color, unlike any eyes I had ever seen.
His cheekbones were moderately prominent with a distinctive chin, and eyebrows.
He was handsome, but I was still being forced to marry him.
"You were going to yell at me?" his tone seemed cocky now.
I wrinkled my nose and glared at him again. Okay, maybe he wasn’t that good looking.
"I have to marry you</u>?"
"Sorry to burst your bubble, Princess, but I'm not too thrilled about this either, but my parents are making me also, so we're going to have to get used to each other." He hissed.
"Well, aren’t you just a bundle of pure joy?" I voiced with full sarcasm.
He rolled his eyes.
"I tried to be nice, but you bit my head off. Why should I be nice to you, when you've got your own attitude?"
I sighed lightly. He was right.
"I guess you're right." I rubbed my arm a bit. "I shouldn’t expect that from you, if I don’t give you the same courtesy. "
He nodded then stepped aside, allowing a couple of men to walk into my room.
I blinked, watching them as they picked up my boxes and left, leaving my room practically empty.
"My name is Jerome Muerte." He took my hand and kissed it. "It's a pleasure to meet you finally."
I smiled a bit. Okay, his might be better.
"Alice beauty."
I took my hand back as the men came back for the rest of my things, then left.
"Alright, please pick up your purse, or carry things and we'll go. Father's waiting."
"Your dad's driving?" I figured he was old enough to drive.
He shook his head.
"No, that's Mark's job." He turned and headed down the hall toward the stairs.
Mark's job?
I quickly grabbed up my bag and took one last look around my room, then turned and followed after Jerome, passing my parents in the living room without a second glance or anything and walked outside, expecting to see a truck in the driveway, but I only found a black Mercedes parked on the side of the street and Jerome leaning against it, waiting.
"Said goodbye?"
I snorted and started down the driveway toward him. Like I was going to say good-bye to them, but I heard the front door open behind me. I knew they had walked outside expecting me to say bye.
"Bye, Alice." I heard my mother's voice. "We'll come visit when we can."
I said nothing.
"Alice," My father cooed softly and I walked to the car and Jerome opened the door for me. That’s when I turned around and finally looked to them and with a straight face, I replied: "Thanks for ruining my life." and with that I climbed into the car and Jerome followed, closing the door behind him.
I didn’t regret what I had said. They really did just ruin everything I had worked so hard for. And Jerome obviously agreed with me.
David was the man that I loved and I wanted to be with a person I loved, not some guy I don’t even know.
This was the worst thing that could ever happen to me. Jerome may have been somewhat nice now, but I could tell we weren’t going to get a long.
